As a proud Welsh food producer, representing the rich culinary culture of Wales, we were honoured to be part of this year’s St David’s Day reception at 10 Downing Street. This prestigious event was a true celebration of all things Welsh, bringing together some of the finest talent, food, and drink our country has to offer, and we were thrilled to share a taste of Wales with such an esteemed crowd.

Celebrating Welsh Excellence

The St David’s Day reception was more than just an event—it was a showcase of the creativity, passion, and heritage that define Welsh cuisine. From the first moment we stepped into 10 Downing Street, it was clear that this celebration would be one to remember. Our Sales Director, who had the privilege of attending, shared: “It was an honour to be invited to Downing Street to celebrate St David’s Day. The whole experience was incredible! It was amazing to showcase our Welsh beef jerky and Salt Beef by Trailhead to such an impressive group of guests, who absolutely loved our premium range of Welsh food!”

A Culinary Feast for the Senses

The event was supported by the Culinary Association of Wales (CAW), which brought together a talented team of chefs to prepare a mouthwatering selection of canapés. Each bite was a reflection of the finest Welsh ingredients, from savoury treats to sweet indulgences. The canapés, inspired by our country’s culinary heritage, delighted guests and perfectly captured the essence of Wales on a plate.

An Impressive Guest List

The reception attracted an incredible guest list, including Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, Welsh Secretary Jo Stevens, actor Michael Sheen, rugby legends Alun Wyn Jones and Ken Owens, and even cast members from Gavin and Stacey. The atmosphere in the room was electric, and it was surreal to see Welsh food take centre stage in such an iconic location. It was a moment of great pride for us as we showcased the exceptional flavours of Wales to these influential figures.

Proud to Represent Welsh Produce

It was truly inspiring to stand alongside other amazing Welsh producers at the event. We were in great company with Welsh businesses such as Castell Howell, Glyndwr Vineyard, Village Bakery, and Joe’s Ice Cream—each contributing to the success of the event and helping to highlight the incredible diversity of Welsh produce. Sharing the spotlight with these renowned brands was a reminder of how much talent and passion our country has to offer.

A Memorable Experience

What made this experience truly unforgettable was the overwhelming sense of pride and camaraderie shared among the Welsh people and businesses at the event. It wasn’t just about food—it was about coming together to showcase a piece of Wales to the world. There was a shared spirit of celebration and a desire to show the world the very best that Wales has to offer.

This event was a proud moment for all of us, and it reinforced our commitment to representing the best of Welsh food. We look forward to continuing to share the flavours and traditions of Wales with food lovers everywhere!
